Important tips for defining user requests for new topics to ensure good recognition
When adding a new intent without a template, it is necessary, among other things, to define five typical user requests.
Based on these five user requests, the AI gets an idea of which requests are to be expected on this intent. They serve as a basis and are expanded with a variety of user requests. This sharpens the recognition.
Further variants of user requests can be added, if needed, to optimize the understanding of the AI.
The questions/statements vary in wording and ideally use different technical terms.
The following criteria should be met:
✅ The questions/statements all relate to that one specific intent and do not overlap with an existing topic or another new topic.
✅ The questions/statements all have the same answer. For this, it is useful to know roughly what the answer should contain.
✅ The questions/statements vary in wording.
✅ The questions/statements have the same specific intention.
When creating chatbot intents, it is important to define them separately according to intentions in order to achieve good recognition by the AI (more on this).
A positive and a negative example on the intent "receiving an offer"
Positive |
1. I would like to receive an individual offer. |
2. Can you provide an offer? |
3. Please send us an offer for your services. |
4. Could you please send me an offer for your products? |
5. How can I get an offer? |
All questions and statements have the same intention: to know how you can get an offer but vary in their wording.
Negative |
1. I need an offer for the pipes. |
2. I need an offer for the heat pump. |
3. I need an offer for the heating system. |
4. How much is the heat pump? |
5. What are the costs for the heating system? |
Questions 4.+5.:You do not know if the user really would like to receive an offer or if he/she would just like to know the costs. The specific intention of the user (of the questions and statements) is not the same.
After having added the intent, the requests of the intent will be reviewed, so that an optimal recognition of all intents is ensured.
