Answer templates in the knowledge base
Creating and using visualised answers
Response templates enable the integration of visual elements such as sliders or URL buttons into the responses generated by an AI chatbot. This structured presentation of information enhances the customer experience and directs attention specifically towards products or specific services. Using these templates leads to a higher interaction rate and more efficient guidance of users within the widget. A template (e.g. product slider or event slider) is selected via a drop-down menu.
1. Functionality
The editor allows you to create two types of templates: sliders (cards) and buttons. Instead of entering static responses, the individual fields are ‘prompted’. This means that the AI agent receives instructions on what type of information (e.g. an event title or a price) should appear in which position.
2. Create answer templates
- In the Knowledge Base menu item, the answer templates area opens by clicking on the arrow on the right.

- Select a template via the drop-down menu.

- A click on the plus icon next to the template opens an input mask.

- The answer template is created by filling in all fields.
- In the Card Configuration area, clicking on the arrows on the right expands areas that allow detailed configuration of the card.
- Multiple cards can be assigned to a template. To do this, simply click on Add Card.
- Clicking on Create saves the answer template.

3. Example of use
1. Produktsuche
This example shows how a product range is presented in a slider with images and text for sales purposes. In response to the question ‘What trainers are available?’, the AI chatbot displays sliders showing all available trainers, including a card featuring white Nike Air Force trainers with an image, price and a “Buy now” button.

2. Event information
When users ask about trade fairs or events, the AI agent generates a slider displaying upcoming dates. Example: In response to the question “Which trade fairs will you be attending in 2026?”, the AI chatbot displays sliders showing all events, including a card for CCW 2026 with an image, date and a ‘Find out more’ button.
